Have you Saved Room for Dessert? I hope you save room for dessert, in moderation of course, every day. Denying ourselves a small treat, day in and day out, can only be difficult on the psyche, and life is difficult enough as it is without us making ourselves dessert-less martyrs. Even if we have dietary restrictions or some specific food allergies, it does not mean we cannot enjoy life with a bit of dessert.
Case in point are the two recipes I'm featuring today.
Snowhite of Finding Joy in My Kitchen not only makes a fat-free cake, but she makes it in her Crock Pot. That's an important extra bonus for those of us who live in hot climates! She slow cooks a beautiful and tasty Fat-Free Crock Pot Apple Cake and shared the recipe with us. There's no butter, oil or shortening, but it's still moist. She has a trick. Do you know how she does it?
Chaya of Comfy Cook was able to cut about half the calories of a Nigella Lawson recipe for Triple Chocolate Brownies, and also transformed it to be gluten-free, just so her husband would not be denied dessert. She cut the recipe in half so they would eat in moderation, and used gluten-free flour.

If you haven't already done so, go take a look at their recipes, and visit these blogs too, while you are there. Both ladies are very good bakers with lots of delicious recipes in their archives.
And join us, today, and each Wednesday to Save Room for Dessert at Our Krazy Kitchen.
